hello, lovelies!

i know i have a couple smaller about me blurbs around my blog, but i wanted to do a more in depth and dedicated section, since i think i'm simultaneously kinda interesting and as bland as untoasted white bread dipped in unsalted soup.

i'm louise, but you can call me lou, and i am a girl of many hobbies. i think i'm the funniest person my best friends know, i read as much as i can (so far, i've read one hundred and seven books this year), listen to music almost constantly, watch a concerning amount of movies and tv (according to one of my best friends, anyway), and crochet a lot of bags and beanies. i also play a few instruments, though i mostly stick with my acoustic guitar i named harper, and sing a bit. i used to write creatively, mostly when i was in high school, but it's been a while since i've written anything longer than five hundred words.

i love animals, especially dinosaurs and sharks. when i was younger, i was known for having a comical amount of knowledge on any given topic, though now i don't know nearly as much useless trivia as i used to. i also LOVE apples.. ooh and stars! i'm currently working on a granny square apple blanket for myself. it's taken over a year to make so far, and i haven't even finished the squares.

i take music very seriously, and used to write mini analyses about some of my favourite songs, and i might get back into doing that on here. i also hope to write reviews for all media forms i consume. i write little blurbs sometimes on my letterboxd, but i don't really get into my thoughts and opinions about anything i read/watch/listen to, and i'd like to change that.

on the topic of music, i also love musicals, and i'm lucky enough to be able to see both touring productions of broadway shows and community theater productions regularly throughout the year with my grandmother. my favourite musicals i've seen are the national tours of les miserables, waitress, hadestown, and come from away and my local community theater's productions of in the heights, rent, hair, and mamma mia!

i used to go a bit overboard in school when writing essays, so much so that i had to be told i "wasn't writing a book" by my teachers. my final essay of my sophomore year still ended up being fifteen pages long, not including the title or works cited pages. i was a little unhinged. i might get back into writing essays again if i feel strongly enough about it; i miss the feeling of doing the research and taking the notes.

there are just a lot of things i want to get back into, and i'm hoping that this blog will be an avenue for that. fingers crossed.

xoxo
