november flush and your flannel cure

 hello, lovelies!

halloween may be over, but the autumn season is only barely midway through! i don't think i have any specific plans for november other than several thanksgiving dinners because divorce rates in my family run high. ANYWAYS! this month's overview is probably going to be a bit shorter than the others, but that's okay.

christmas gifts. as someone who's currently unemployed and has literally one singular dollar, i utilized my skills in fiber arts and give handmade gifts out at christmas. sounds fun and thoughtful, right? WRONG, it's not fun. every year i'm scrambling to think of something to make for certain people, and then i spend the next month freaking out because i didn't get the gift started until four weeks before my deadline. you would think that i would've learned my lesson after the first time that happened. alas, i'm not that smart.

i've been thinking of chopping off most of my hair. currently, it's about lower back length when it's straightened (more like upper ass length, but i digress), and i've been growing it since may of last year when my sister cut it to sit at about my shoulders. yes, my hair has always grown quickly. i also kinda miss having it dyed, but i also like how healthy my hair is after nonstop dying and bleaching it, and i like the length, too. maybe i'll keep it long and see how i feel about it after christmas. either that or i'll piss off my stylist (sister, belle) and just cut it myself.

an update on the forbidden fruits essay: sadly, i have to scrap it for the time being as i seem to be in a bit of a rut in terms of writing things that require real thought and research. someday i'll come back to it, but for now... it's going to have to collect a bit of dust. i do, however, have some ideas for things to write, but i'm still stuck on how to go about them and so on. i'm sure i'll get there, and end up writing something i'm proud of, but right now i still feel like i don't know how to write essays and think pieces anymore.

i'll also be putting together my winter watchlist. i loved the october halloween movie challenge i did, so i want to do another for december. if any of you have any winter/christmas movie recommendations, please leave a comment OR leave your recommendations in my new suggestion box i've created for this! (i'll link the suggestion box at the end of this post, so be sure to scroll to the bottom for it!) i'll be doing a post about some of my favourite yearly rewatches for december like i did for october when the time comes. i also want to branch out and read some christmas and winter themed books this year. i've never read a holiday book before, so i'm excited to give that a shot. if any of you have any recommendations for books, let me know!

i'm also going to start thinking about what i want to do as my year-long activity/project for 2027. in 2025, i made playlists for each month with the number of songs in them corresponding with the number of days in the month (except for may, since i also added my birthday playlist to it); and this year i decided to read every day this year and keep a physical reading journal. again, if any of you have any suggestions or ideas, i'd love to hear them! geez, i'm asking for a lot of suggestions.

well, i think that's all i have for this monthly overview! i hope you all have a good november, and a happy thanksgiving! i love you all, and we'll talk again soon!

until next time!

xoxo

p.s. here's the link to my suggestion box! as you'll see, there are separate sections for movie recs and book recs, as well as third section for anything else any of you may want to say! suggest away, lovelies!
