hell, lovelies!
this weekend was a lot. i'm sick, i have an open wound on the back of my ankle, i'm breaking out, and i found a white hair on my head. i think it's best to start with friday.
on friday, lizzy and her girlfriend came over to stay for the weekend to help set up and attend my sister's engagement party. on friday, we didn't have anything to prep, so we just chilled.
saturday, though, was when we did most of our pre-party prep work. the three of us went to my grandmother's house so we could make about four pounds of spinach dip and slice bread. three out of four people ended up cutting their fingers while cutting the bread (hint, it wasn't me). after that, lizzy, her girlfriend, and i got late lunch/early dinner and shopped around until about nine thirty. by the time we got home, i was beat so i went to bed pretty quick.
sunday. the big day. the three of us had to go back to my grandmother's to finish prepping deviled eggs before we speed ran getting ready. well, lizzy and i speed ran getting ready. upon arrival to the party location, i was already over it because we somehow lost my grandmother while we were driving over, and then when she did finally arrive i tried to apologize to her when she snapped at me and gave me the worst attitude. i returned the favor and told her she could talk to me when she was ready to behave like an adult. she eventually did come apologize, so there's that.
by the time my sister and her fiancé arrived, everything was just about set up and they were pulled away to talk pictures; belle quickly realized that all she was at the party for was to take pictures with people and loot hot, both of which she succeeded in. after all members of her bridal party were there, she presented us with personalized boxes and cards that officially asked us if we would be her bridesmaids/maid of honour. and before anyone asks, no i was not chosen to be the maid of honour, her best friend of fourteen years was. and no, i'm not upset about it; my sister and i share something that no one else shares with us, and we'll always be there for each other, so we agreed that we didn't find it necessary to have each other as our maids of honor. it's just our relationship. besides, i'm glad i don't have to plan the bachelorette or bridal parties. good luck, bri. love you, girl.
i had never met the other three bridesmaids, so it was good to finally meet and get to know each other a bit. once the party had wrapped up, four out of five bridesmaids plus belle went to do an escape room, and i had never done one before but i had a blast. we were so close to escaping; i had half of the final puzzle solved but didn't realized the was another page after it. oops.
overall, this weekend was fun, but good god am i drained. i don't want to see or talk to anyone for three months. alas, that's not how my life is, and i'm pretty sure there's something next weekend that we have to do. sigh...
anyways, i know it's a long post or anything, but i wanted to update all of you on why i've been MIA for the last few days. until next time!
xoxo
here's a little photo dump of my adventures over the weekend.
