hello, lovelies!
and so, september ends. someone better go wake billie joe armstrong up.
so much happened this month, but also nothing at all. well, that's how every month has gone since becoming unemployed. god, i need a job.
birthdays, long talks with friends, one musical with my dad, getting lost in a parking garage, redownloading hinge, and so much more. be not fooled, however; i haven't remade my hinge account yet, as i am afraid. i never anticipated that my twenties would consist of being deathly afraid of dating but also being so lonely that i cry myself to sleep most nights... anyways!
with october tapping at my front windows of my house, i'm happy that september is over. don't get me wrong, it was a good month, but i was just so maddeningly bored most days that i genuinely don't remember most of the month. don't be concerned, it's a normal occurrence; i can remember a lot of other, useless trivial things, though.
anyways, to the actual september wrap-up!
over the course of september, i read nine books, two of which were audiobooks, two were physical books, and five were digital e-books. in order and format, here's a list of the books i read: long island girls by gabrielle korn on digital; so old, so young by grant ginder on digital; of mice and men by john steinbeck physically; the beguiled by thomas cullinan on digital; 200 monas by jan saenz on digital; everyone's seen my tits by keeley hazell on digital; gone girl by gillian flynn physically; hour of the witch by chris bohjalian on audio; and the outsider by stephen kind on audio. the outsider was my first stephen king novel, actually, though i do own a few of his other books (two of which are different copies of the stand... for some reason...); i really enjoyed the outsider, and i'm excited to read more from him. i'm also planning on watching the mini series that hbo did for the outsider starting tomorrow! i was previously a bit apprehensive about getting into his work, as it's honestly a bit daunting. i will say, i'm not a huge fan of supernatural horror in books, which is wild considering that the horror of being human and the things that only a human could do is perhaps much scarier for someone as paranoid as me. oh well, i do it to myself.
i also watched quite a few movies (i didn't think to keep track of all the television shows i watched, though i will do it next month), all of which are logged on my letterboxd, but i'll list them here, and talk about a few of them. on the 2nd, i watched coraline, which is a yearly rewatch at this point; fuck neil gaiman, though, he can rot in hell. from the 5th to 9th, i did a bit of a marathon and watched seventeen movies: uptown girls, fantastic mr. fox, steel magnolias, kubo and the two strings, undertone, disturbia, the ring, the ring two, the ruins, the uninvited, house at the end of the street, the last house, the beguiled, meet the robinsons, the conjuring, brave, and raya and the last dragon. if you didn't think i was unemployed before, i think that should convince you. from the 11th to the 13th, i watched four more films: monsters university, monsters inc., finding nemo, and coco. i was in a bit of a funk for most of the month and was freaking out about getting older (even though my birthday isn't until the middle of next year), so i rewatched a bunch of childhood favourites. on the 15th, i watched three movie; bambie, barbie, and uncle buck. i had never seen uncle buck before, and i really liked it! it's the type of movie that my dad would try to get us to watch when we were younger. i watched one movie, hush, on the 17th, and didn't watch anything until the 21st. okay, i lied when i said i didn't keep track of the tv shows i watched; i did log one show on letterboxd: monster: the jeffrey dahmer story. i hate ryan murphy, but i unfortunately can't stop watching his awful shows. i also watched 1922, triangle, and until dawn from the 21st to the 22nd. finally, on the 25th, i watched the backrooms, which was just okay. the first half was better than the second half. i need a life.
i didn't really keep track of the music i listened to, but i listened to a lot of it, whatever it was. i also picked up knitting again, though i'm still mediocre; then again, i'm mediocre at pretty much everything. i want to try and make some socks, but i don't have any double pointed needles, though i think i could make it work with just some normal needles, or even maybe some of the interchangeable cords i have with my set. i think my first project, though, will be a bobble hat or a beanie. that was my first project when i picked up crochet again a couple years ago, so it seems fitting.
i've been having so much fun with this blog, and i've loved interacting with all of you lovelies! you've all been so sweet and kind, and i'm so thankful for that. i hope that you all have had a wonderful september, and i hope that october is great, possibly even better!
until next time!
xoxo
